Now this is what you would call a BIG dog.
Zeus — Tallest Dog Living

This big guy’s been grabbing a lot of headlines lately. Resembling more the height of a horse, the Great Dane Zeus hits the 1.118 m mark. He lives with Denise Doorlag and her family in Otsego, Michigan.

I've seen him mentioned on other sites and apparently he is the tallest dog around, but that picture looks photoshopped!
Same goes for the photo's of the tallest donkey (is that woman in the tree real???) and the Belgian horse.

And it also looks like feeding the tallest dog in the world is a hard thing to do - he's a bit skinny don't you think ? <LOL LOL LOL>
Btw - did you see that chihuahua as service dog? How cool is that!

I also thought Zeus look a wee bit lean. Guinness has verified his size.

Seems I'm not the only one thinking he is a bit skinny: komonews
But I must agree with the Sherry's comment:
<<All of you worried about Zeus' weight need to understand that the Great Dane breed can sometimes carry an inherited genetic flaw called Gigantism...Gigantism is usually the result of hereditary and glandular disturbance in animals. Gigantism causes a lot of issues, weight gain being one of them, bone density, another. So Zeus is actually better as a leaner weight, it will reduce the pain associated with Hip Dysplasia and/ or any joint discomfort.>>

He is so sweet (especially the part where she takes him for a walk) :)

First time I saw that, i thought TOO SKINNY. and i have known some Danes in my time. They are a hunting dog, that needs stamina after all.

LOL - no dog that size is ever going to be a working dog anymore ;)

Early neutering, vaccines and commercial foods are the triggers for extreme growth like this in about 90% of the cases.
People should educate themselves about these things even before getting a dog, but sadly mostly they don't and misfits like these are the result.
Just hope his - probably short - life will be painfree and he'll not suffer agonizing jointpain later on.
