You have the file downloaded on your hard drive ?
If so. Right click on it. Select Rename. Then you can call it lh32.reg
Once all that's done, just double click on it. 2 Boxes will pop up, accept them both.

LH, would you recommend backing up the registry before changing it?

I did so in the email, but maybe a good idea of a reminder. Thanks ScottW

Edit. Oops. Just checked. I didn't. Double thanks ScottW.

hello lh, is it just coincidence that the program you sent me is called lh32.reg, or was that just a handy title to send it under? just curious. and should i back up the registry, and if so how? i'm really terribly new at this. bye for now, it's kind of late.

It just happened to be registry export #32 in my exports folder. And I prefix everything I am working on with my initials. Makes things easier to find.
You can, off course, name it what you like, as long as it ends with .reg.
To backup the registry. You can use Backup and Restore Center > Create a restore point or change settings. This will also back up some other important system files.
Or, for the registry alone, I use this,

I am having the same problem as this user, but on a laptop. I have been all over the internet trying all kinds of fixes that did work for some people, but not for me. Any chance the reg file would work for a laptop too? Could i have it? thanks

Hello,

I think I'm having the same problems except that this is a newer Desktop. It was a refurbished machine that I bought form Tiger Direct. I want to change it so that it doesn't go to sleep every 5 minutes but I get the same message "Your power plan information isn't available". I'm running this machine as admin and I think I must have corrupted files or something.

So, LH, any chance you could hook me up with those files too? I would greatly appreciate it =)
