XXX.xls message issue

when I open a excel file, there was always pop-up, xxx. xls file format....didn't match.....

why it happen? how to solve it.

it happen since MS Office 2007

PP3TNC, if it's not a private file you could send it to me and I may be able to make readable.
If it was created in office 2003 it would be .xls, 2007 is default .xlsx

it can be open and editable, i just didn't want to see this message every time when I open a excel file.

Does this happen on any Excel file you open, or just one? If it's just the one file you could try doing a File SaveAs and save it as 2007 format.
