When I click the Word icon or access Word through Programs, a document that was saved appears. I'm getting tired of having to delete the first document I saved in order to begin a new one. I would really appreciate knowing how to delete that image so that only a blank page will show.

The problem is probably that your default template was modified. You'll have to clear it out and then save the default template with a regular blank one.

Otherwise you can sometimes use the repair option to do that.
