I would like to use the SmartArt styles for AutoShapes is this possible?

Is there any way of inserting a Shape into a word document so that it has the same stlying functionality as the SmartArt Shapes, but without the SmartArt container? Or is there any way of getting the Format Shape dialog (see image below) for AutoShapes, as it seems to have more customisation than the standard AutoShape properties.
