on my hp pavilion dv6915nr laptop every time i turn it on it always says that my wireless is disabled and i'm not sure how to make it work. it's not a huge problem right now but will be sometime if i need to connect via wireless connection. i have tried putting new drivers on to try and fix it but nothing i've tried so far has worked so far

Did you actually turn it on with the little switch in the front (push to the left) and the light must be blue - not amber. Else it is also possible that the switch is broken like on my HP 6000. Then you have to get a WiFi USB stick. No big deal, they cost around $25 - e.g. like this one http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm.....tDetail.do

Is it disabled in Device Manager?

If the answer to the LH question is "no", bring it back. But do it soon, because a lot of shops will exchange/refund it only within 14 days. Mine lasted at least 1 year.

And my last suggestion. Make sure it is not permanently off, in Advanced Power Options.

Jack, call me crazy but I think you should read the instructions. If the light is orange/yellow/amber then all wireless devices are off:

Wireless light:
* Blue: An integrated wireless device, such as a WLAN device and/or a Bluetooth® device, is turned on.
* Amber: An integrated wireless device is turned off.

If that's not the answer, try some more instructions from HP:

Sorry, buddy, but it sounds like a bad egg. Better do as whs suggests and get it replaced fast, if you still can. If it's too late for that, I guess you will be talking to HP about warranty service.

These switches really seem to be flimsy. You are the 3d case I know of now. I solved the problem with the WiFi dongle. But mine was out of warrenty. But in your case I would insist to get it fixed or exchanged.
