Today, I got a copy of Winutuxu, that claimed to be linux. But I doubt it, I believe it is just a hacked windows xp done by a couple of morocco guys. Anyone tried that yet? I just want to confirm whether it's realy linux or just a hacked windows

No, I payed nothing. I went to the support center of my notebook, asking for linux distro that can work on my notebook. The guy came up with this winUtuxU and claimed it was linux with the ability to run win programs. But this winutux was too windows to be linux, and when I went to linux distributor of my area, nobody ever heard about it. Now, I am 99% sure it was a hacked windows

Try Ubuntu. You can download and burn a live cd and test what works or does not work before you install it.

Yeah - if your PC is not high end, you can also try Xubuntu.

Tried ubuntu 7.04 gamers, not working. ubuntu 7.04 studio, install via text mode, not working too. Linux mint and Freespire works, but sound is so small and graph can only vesa 1024x768. My system is VIA Chrome9 graphics and VIA Hi Def Audio. I hope ubuntu 7.10 will have support for my hardware

Or if you want to go for 6.10 (which I use) which is more compatible, go here:

Hey buddy. Please don't post unless you have something productive to say. And do us a favor and leave out the distracting signatures. Thanks.
