I tried to warn all XP Pro users running "iffy" copies last week that MS had a surprise coming within the week and it appears you you got surprised.
My recommendation was to "bite the bullet" and procure a genuine copy of XP Pro from a reputable retailer and to Register the software after Product Activation.
My recommendation still stands.
XP Pro will not get any less expensive due to demand and stock is rapidly running out at many vendors.
Suggest you heed my advice if you like and want to continue running XP as MS has other intentions than just stopping piracy of a (8) year old O/S.
