Hello thank's in advance for any help,

I was just wondering if somone could tell me this, If I was to delete my "user" on windows vista & there is only one user on my computer and that is mine, I want to delete it because it seems like my computer thinks that im not the Administrator & I thought that if I deleted the account there would be no excuse to not think I am the admin for there would be no other account's, Also if this will not delete any of my files or programs how would I delete my current user so that when I turn on the computer it go's straight to desktop instead of the login window.

Thank's for any help.

You can create a new administrator account. Any normal user account you can delete any time (from an admin account), but there should be an admin account at all times. So it is somehow catch 22.

Can't you skip the logon screen with a setting in UAC control (Control Panel > User Accounts) ?

Lighthouse: If you're asking me I don't know, I never mess with UAC.

I have UAC removed from my system, I was just going on memory. Maybe someone can confirm my last post. Thankyou.

My idea, if you saw before edit, wouldn't "really" be a bad idea, would it? For a comp with a single user.
I normally run mine that way without problems, but I wasn't sure about recommending it to anyone.

Bartman. If it works for you. Then recommend it.
I now run mine with 2 users (1 for testing purposes)
But it's all autologon

Edit. and yes. It was a good suggestion.

jickshick. You must have at least 1 user on your system.

My suggestion would be to delete all other accounts and use your administrator account and remove the
password. That will skip the logon screen when you turn on your computer. Yes, once you delete an account
it's erased from the system.

This is the issue we should figure out. It would be a lot easier to change your account to have Administrator access then delete account idea you listed.
Why is it you think you don't have Administrator access? I ask in part because Windows Vista locks things down so that even Administrator's can't do certain things by default like change system files with Windows Explorer.
