Hi Guys,

We have in-house software that runs on most versions of Windows, but with Windows Vista, we are having some issues especially with renaming files.

Our software imports a text files, then renames the file after the import. With the User Account Control turned on, the file fails to be re-named.

Is there any way to config the UAC setting to allow the file to be renamed (without turning off the UAC settings)?

Thanks,

Have you tried right clicking the file or process that renames the file and "run as Administrator"?

What is the in-house software?

To add to this. I found a good article on Technet which may help you out also.

Fix the in-house software in such a way that it can run properly with no-admin rights or change rights on the text file.
