That's an XP update but you posted under Vista. Which OS do you have again?

Well, pending some additional input, you can right click and hide it. However, that doesn't explain why it's appearing.

You can try downloading the standalone via the link above. That should make the Update disappear.

Go to Control Panel> Programs and Features> and make sure you click on 'Installed Updates', in the upper left. Just double check to see if you already have this updated installed.

Thanks.

KB950762 is a security update that dates from june10, 08. There is a free MS help and support tel. number mentioned in this article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950762/en-us Maybe you want to check with them.

hurtingbad,

Click on link and perform test.
http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/diag/
Post back results of test.

This is a MS issue.

You won't get any help from MS unless you (Demand) India Support site.

They are good and more understanding than US Redmond site which is closed as usual.
Edit: US Redmond site may not be closed but will pass problem back to you or OEM.
Post Back.

hurtingbad,

That update is MORE than you and others care to know about.
Part of a larger MS policy issue.
Trust me on this one.
Edit: Cut Off Auto Updates and wait till next Tuesday and manually update off MS site.
