Ok, here is the story. A couple of months ago i dual booted Windows Vista and 7, yesterday, i tried to remove the vista partition with some guides i found on the internet and i was successful , that's what i thought at least... I rebooted and it said that windows failed to start because of a software or hardware change. It tells me how to fix the problem (by inserting the installation disc and restarting it, then choosing the language and click repair computer). The file that caused this problem was "\Boot\BCD , status: oxc0000034 , info : The windows boot configuration data file is missing required information. "
On the guide i followed it said to move the boot system file along with bootmgr on the Windows 7 partition so i would be able to remove Vista. What should i do to fix it? I can't find my windows 7 disc but i still have my windows vista disc. Is there a way to recover my files by using Linux or something? Please excuse my English.
