You are most likely missing the codec. Easiest solution is to use VLC which can play most anything. Else you have to get the proper codec for the filetype of that video.

You can use the Gspot codec finder to tell you what codec the video needs.

Tested with Gspot and in status it says Codec(s) sre Installed.
I have VLC but that ain't it,there has to be a fix for no video.
It looks like there is no answer for this problem, just change
to another program.

P.S. It isn't a codec problem.

chevyfever hi
I had this same problem just last night with a video I downloaded from Youtube. Sound but no video. This is how i fixed it.
I have vista codec pack installed.(not everyone likes codec packs) but I think they are ok. Using revo uninstaller I went through the motions of uninstalling vista codec pack which brings up the options of uninstalling or repairing. I chose the repair option and when finished exited revo.
The video then played perfectly on both windows media player and vlc.

You may want to try and reset your Gamma/Video color settings to defaults. Ive seen it where video disappears if you set one of the sliders the wrong way. This is usually under Control Panel > Display Settings > Advanced Settings > Graphic Properties. A simple yet overlooked fix. Hope this helps

I have checked all over and found that maybe SP2 was the cause so I
uninstalled it with no results. On another site said to scan with the
System File Checker and I did.I got this-"Windows Resource Protection
found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them","Details
are included in the CBS.Log".Checked the log and it is empty.
