I bought a new computer back in Febuary with the Windows Vista OS. I use Windows Media Player 11 to play music ripped from CD and purchased on the internet. The problem i am having is that when a music track gets within about the last 20 seconds during playback, the song plays intermittent, crackles and generally jumps a few seconds until normal play is then resumed. Does anyone know why the player is doing this? All of the tracks played fine in XP.

Try tweaking the buffer in Performance tab.

Thanks for the reply. I think i have solved the problem. In the sound menu, select speakers and then click properties. Select the enhancements tab at the top and check the box 'disable all enhancements'. Click apply then ok and ok in the sound menu. It seems to have solved my problem.
