I set up a new gmail account today and I have been trying to connect it with Windows Mail. I've followed all of the instructions to a tee but while my outgoing mail is going ok my incoming mail is not. When I try different changes, apply them and close out, generating a request to synchronize the email folders with gmail, I get a "General authentication failed. None of the authentication methods are supported by your IMAP Server (if any) are supported on this computer." I've turned off the firewall and spam filters too and that didn't work.

I need Windows Mail in order to have a PC based storage of my contacts in order to synchronize it with my Blackberry.

Help!!

The only thing I can think of that would cause that is if the box on the account server page labeled "Log on using Secure Password Authentication" was checked but I don't know why it would be.
As for 'I need Windows Mail in order to have a PC based storage of my contacts in order to synchronize it with my Blackberry.' I don't quite get your goal here as this will not synchronize contacts with gmail, just email messages.
