Hi, i cannot start the Windows Firewall Service. I get this error message when trying to start it from "Services".
Error code: "Windows could not start Windows Firewall on Local Computer. For more information, review the System Event Log. If this is a non-microsoft service, contact the service vendor, and refer to service-specific error code 6801.

Can anyone help me with this?

I had this issue before and I had to tweak a settings in the registry. I changed it from 0 to 1.
Go to start> type in, regedit. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE<SOFTWARE<MICROSOFT<POLICIES<MICROSOFT<WINDOWS
FIREWALL<STANDARD FIREWALL

PLEASE NOTE:: you have to know how to add this to your registry!!!!!!!

If this doesn't work have there been any changes to your system since the last time the Firewall was working? Do you have any other Firewalls installed?

WARNING. Before you make any changes in the Registry, make a backup first

I tried what you did, but I cannot find Policies anywhere, in Microsoft. Is there any other way around?

From a thread from microsoft that helped someone fix thier issue. It worked for them so I didn't try it. Plus my computer has proxy and I have extremly limited access to this computer and deff cannot access any of the registry and anything of that sort. Little hard for me to double check things.. My applogies
