ok did that twas another thing I hate bout 8 thanks for being patient wif me ...................now what ?
or first intens were to install mse on this craptop is there actually a link for mse for win 8 ? I read somewhere there isn't as win defender is just as effective
Windows Defender IS MSE for 8 so is already in the machine.
Go to Control Panel -> Administrative Tools
In there click on Services.
There is a SERVICE named [ Windows Defender ]
Needs to be set to [ Automatic Trigger Start ]
Reboot the machine.
Norton products have a reputation for being some of the most difficult anti-virus products to completely uninstall and remove from a system - often leaving orphaned traces which could cause conflicts.
To this end, Symantec makes its own "Norton Removal Tool" which will do the job throughly.
Here is the link to their most recent version, which will work on Windows 8 -
Download the small program and follow the instructions. Running the program will remove all traces of any and all Norton products you may have installed - so if you have any other of their products installed which you want to keep, you need to read the instructions carefully.
Hope this is helpful.
