I bought an HP Mini netbook for $25. the factory install was windows 7 starter. When i got it it had windows xp on it (why i don't know) so I put windows 7 Home Premium on it and it works just fine. Now I wanted to install windows 8 pro from usb and it can't find my hdd. any one have any idea why or can give me a few tips to get windows 8 on there? I tried booting from usb first and when that didn't work I tried it from the windows explorer to no avail...

Are you trying to boot 8 from an .iso?

I'm booting from an .iso image I put on a usb flash drive. I used the windows usb creator
