Windows 8 DVD No sound

I have installed Nero 12 and the DVD player on my Dell laptop shows a real nice picture but I have no sound. I have up dated the Audio driver to the latest for windows but still no sound.

Welcome to HTG ,

I don't use Win 8 but am wondering if the DVD player worked fine before you installed Nero 12 ?
