I have dual booted Windows 8 consumer preview to my new partition W:
I'd like to update the consumer preview to release preview.
I have the ISO on a DVD, but not sure where to go from there.
Can I install it "on top" of the windows 8 consumer preview on my W drive?
My main OS is Windows 7 and I don't want to ruin that from my C drive.

Thanks for any help!

beammeupscotty, You should be able to install over your preview release except all your apps if any and other settings will have to be reinstalled and your settings will have to be reset.

You can install it in the CP partition. RP will replace CP and update the bootmgr.

if i install it in the cp partition, do I restart the computer with the iso disc in the computer? Will it give me a choice where to install it (to drive W?)

It will give you a choice if you use 'custom' installation. If you use 'upgrade', it may destroy your Windows7.
