I have just upgraded from XP to Windows 7 Home Premium, the upgrade which is really a clean install went OK but on completion the machine will not reboot and start Windows 7 again unless the Installation disc is in the drive. If it isn't there it comes up with a black screen that says "Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem 1. Insert your installation disc and restart. 2. Choose language etc 3. Click repair your computer.
This happens everytime I restart. No changes have been made to software or hardware. Nothing else has been loaded only a new Windows 7 system.

There was apparently a problem created during the 7 installation. Best remedy is probably a new installation.
