(Solved) - Windows 7 to Windows 8 upgradation

i have windows 7 ultimate in my system.now i want to use windows 8.if i upgrade from win 7 to win 8 then what changes will be made?can i get my all applications/programs (as it is as in windows 7) after upgrade to windows 8?

Neal, you have win 7 ultimate at present.
An upgrade may not really help you.

What apps do you refer to?

Are you considering an 'upgrade' as opposed to a windows 8 complete install (you will lose all of your apps)

Windows 8 is nothing like 7 so you might want to reconsider.

If you go the path then please image your existing system (win 7)

BTW, is there an urgency or reason to go Win 8?

yes,sir.i want to use it.i wanna see its features,its interface etc.

these are all necessary basic applications i.e office or some other small programs.u mean if i upgrade from windows 7 ultimate to windows 8 pro. then i need reinstall all apps..?

Yes, a complete Win 8 install will require you to install ALL apps.

That is why I asked.

The test period is over for 8 because it now market, not beta

Before you plunge into Windows 8, I suggest you try it out in virtual. That is risk free and you can experiment as much as you like. All you need is appr. 30GB of free space on your C partition and this tutorial: http://www.eightforums.com/tut.....s-8-a.html
