High Prices Are Forecasts For Win7.
---
Best not to throw out that old XP CD yet until one sees if they can afford the new O/S.

Who knows? They already backtracked on the three running
app limit for Starter on netbooks. It is MS but maybe they'll,
ahem, surprise us? If not, you can still use RC2 or RC3 ;) for
many months. By then there may be a sale on Amazon/eBay !

What would be wrong with this marketing solution ????
---
(3) Editions
Basic/Home
Professional/Business
Ultimate/ Enthusiast
---
Sell the editions to the three market segments at a decent fair price and lower the advertising costs.
---
This solution would promote eager voluntary migration and cut resistance to change probably by half.
======
Too simple I guess.
---
Confusing customers along with higher prices in a recession is Best Solution.
---
Makes perfect since to me. :) :)

I like the first half of your post and actually have railed against MS for their multiple versions on these pages.
I'm willing to be patient and see the pricing strategy for consumers (businesses, who knows their motivations).
