Drag & drop of a desktop shortcut to quick launch is not working in windows 7. Neither does shift + drag & drop nor ctrl + drag & drop.
Any ideas ?
I use a shortcut Folder as a toolbar in my taskbar to have a quick launch, maybe you can try that?
jitsejan - Could you please clarify a bit more ? Thanks.
I'm sorry. I've put a number of shortcuts in a folder, like D:/Shortcuts, and then on the windows taskbar, right mouse button -> Toolbars -> Add Toolbar, then select the Shortcut folder. I've disabled text, so you only see the icons.
I hope this helps =)
Found the solution here. Scroll to item 13.
Sorry, too soon. The quick launch bar vanished on restart. Strange.
Does the toolbar solution doesn't work? Or do you really want a Quick Launch instead of a handmade toolbar..?
I wanted a quick launch bar where I can drag and drop shortcuts, files etc. like in XP.
Have you looked under windows 7 on the how -to on this site, on how to pin to quick launch
I will. Thanks, ruthackermann.
amkeew - right click and drag into quick launch works for me on Win 7.
