how can i make a copy of window 7 from my laptop.

jay1964, welcome to HTG.
What is the make and model of your machine. There may be an app supplied that allows you make recovery disks for a factory install.
Another way is to image your system with http://www.filehippo.com/download_macrium_reflect/

And if you want, you can download the ISO image for the official Windows 7 install DVD here:

Download the same version you already have, you need the product key sticked to your computer to install Windows.

It is not clear what you want to do with a copy. If you want a backup of your system, make an image as Mike suggested.

If you want to install Win7 on another system, you need the installation .iso that Ruja has linked. But that will only activate with the key on your COA sticker or a purchased key. The COA sticker key must be for the same edition of Win7.

You cannot install the copy of Windows 7 that was preinstalled on your laptop on a different computer. You would need to purchase a new copy of Windows 7 which is available from the Microsoft Store.
