I bought a new Dell Inspiron 17R a few weeks ago and the ordered win8 for it installed it, the BIG problem I am having is this and I am not sure if it is the laptop or win8. The touchpad mouse is sensitive to heat and touch and commonly puts the cursor anywhere and messes up what I am typing I am a new Cisco student and this gets in my way, anyways I want to turn it off and just use a standard usb mouse.

Win8 issue
(3 posts)Look for the control pad applet on the Desktop side (from the Metro/Start screen tap the Windows key), near the Clock. If it is not visible, click the little white triangle and look for something that appears like a gray square. With the applet there will be an option to disable to touch-pad, which will be disabled from then on unless you re-enable it.
