(Solved) - Win7 apear to start normally, but then nothing moves

Wouldn't worry about the mobo video drivers as they will not load as long as your external card is installed.
You might want to go to Nvidia website and download the latest driver for your card.

Thank you, germ-x, for your suggestion. However I am now at 36 successful consecutive startups, and as the saying suggests, "if it works don't fix it", I will not make any modifications unless problems show up again. In such a case your hint will be precious.
For the time being, thank you all for your help.
