On my hands is a Win 98 computer from which I need to somehow transfer the My Documents folder to a fresh installed XP machine. The old one doesn't see any USB devices.

Hi GKI610, win98 was DOS based with windows as an extension. USB support not really supported to the extent you require in 98
You could just copy the folders to cd or DVD/

It has a cd writer, but it seems to be lacking in software or drivers to make it function. I can't find a program on the machine that would transfer files/folders. It does have one for copying cd's, but it won't work in explorer for that function.

and yeah, I've forgotten virtually everything I knew about Windows before XP!
