I have a dell Dimension xps gen 5. When I did a clean install of win 7 ( I had win xp) everything seemed okay. Then when i installed itunes and put my music in the music stopped after a couple of songs. I tried the bios to fiddle with it to no avail. I have a bose companion 5 speaker system and it is connected to the USB port. everything else on the usb ports seem to work but not the sound for any lenght of time. When i reboot it works again for a short time. Also when I reboot i get a squeeling sound from my speakers until i am in windows. Any help would be a big thank you

Several people had problems with sound driver in w7. Look at the website of your sound hardware manufacturer (Realtech or whatever) and see whether they have a w7 driver.
