Will Virtual RAM (ReadyBoost) speed up my software e.g Adobe After Effects??
(6 posts)Ready Boost speeds up paging, provided you use a fast USB stick. So if you are short in RAM, the overall system performance can be positively effected. But it is not directed to any specific program. The way it operates is controlled by Superfetch and cannot be influenced by the user.
But do not expect any wonders. And if you have 2GB of RAM (or more), you will probably not notice any difference. In a worst case, it can slow down your performance because of the inherent overhead of Ready Boost.
Can you tell us your system specs please
Some understanding how ReadyBoost is supposed to work.

If you are running 7 64 bit then the best answer is 4gb minimum, but if intensive then 8gb plus.
Win 7 32bit will be restricted to 3-3.5gb MAX.
But this is whether your system can take it.
