Is your network on a regular router getting DHCP form there or from a active directory domain?

have you been into the wifi adapter IPV4 properties? to check if you getting IP and DNS automatically?

if from a normal "home" network, then you can give the wifi adapter a static IP address, do you know how to do this?
if not ill gladly explain.

if its a business network with an AD, then its not much harder to set a static IP. but there you have an issue of getting IP clashes shoudl you choose an IP thats already been assigned. but there are ways around this.
