(Solved) - why icons instead of photo thumbnails in photo file folders

Sometimes when I open a photo file folder, I see all or some of pictures as icons instead of photo thumbnails. Why is that and how can I fix it?

Also, sometimes the icons are not even right. They just look like a blank sheet of paper.

Try rebuilding your icon cache. To do this, you will need to show hidden files and folders. Then navigate to C:\Users\your username\AppData\Local\IconCache.db and delete the file IconCache.db and restart your computer.

Try also to rebuild the thumbnail cache.

Try going to folder Options - View and uncheck "Always show icons, never thumbnails". Then click ok
