In XP I successfully used ShellRun by PHD, along with autostart.inf file to autostart self-created webpages that I had burned to CD/DVD. The autostart file named index.htm as the file to kick off everything. From that page, all other pages are found.

Now that I'm using Win7 home, and using the same ShellRun and autostart.inf file, instead of index.htm starting, I get an "autostart menu" with one of the options available to start a ShellRun file. I'm assuming that ShellRun file is the autostart.inf file because when I click on that option, the index.htm file comes up.

I'm wondering why the autorun.inf file doesn't run automatically on start up in Win7 like it did in XP??

Any help?

Thanks!

Have you tried going to properties of the files and checking XP compatibility mode?

Which files, htm? They are made with a 64-bit program running under Win7. ShellRun.exe is a 32-bit program.

Incidentally, it's an autorun.inf file not autostart. Fingers and brain got crossed up.
