Heya, I was wondering what a good program that you can get (a free one would be nice) that can see if my computer is infected with adware or spyware, and maybe one that can do both get rid (if I have any) and prevent my computer from getting any future mishaps. I currently use NOD32 for virus and ZoneAlarm for my firewall (love both btw). Also I've heard that having a program for adware and spyware really slows down your computer, any sugestions?

Thanx

Best bet is to install SpyBot or Ad-Aware, and just run a full manual scan of your system.

It's true, any anti-virus or anti-spyware application is going to slow down your computer if it's running in real-time.

NOD32 seems to do those things.
Are you using the full program or a trial version?

Yes, when I close my eyes. Why?

Does NOD32 update itself regularly?

Maybe your just on when I am but you seem to be all over when I post on these forums within mins ;)...don't get me wrong I love it! Get instant responses using these forums and it's awesome, anyways yes it does it updates everytime there is a new antivirus instantly don't have to set it on a date or time (of corse you can manually update it if you wish to do so). I just looked into it more and it seems to say Maximum protection Antivirus and antispyware but nothin about adware. I mean adware and spyware are totally two different things, right?

I happen to be in front of my computer at home right now... and I've got a desktop feed reader checking every 2 minutes or so.

Also I'm supposed to be getting some work done, and I'm procrastinating by writing forum posts instead =)
