My computer guy set up my new laptop and I am not sure if it is something that he put on or if it snuck on. Any ideas?

That is an application that adds a drop shadow to your windows in windows XP... purely for look and feel.

Very odd that a computer guy would add a program like that.

What operating system did he give you? If he claimed it is Windows Vista you should do some checking to make sure he didn't rip you off.

There's a transformation pack for Windows XP that makes it look like Windows Vista.

Thanks for your responses. I am not sure that I know what a drop window is. Does this thing take up much memory? Can it do any harm to the laptop? I am using XP.

It doesn't do any harm, it just adds a drop shadow to the windows. You'll have to check your task manager to see how much memory it's using, and the computer might be a bit faster with it disabled.

Try just turning it off and see if you prefer the difference. If so, then uninstall it.
