What is "Intel (R) AMT setup"?

Hi all,
Could someone please explain what "Intel (R) AMT setup" is? And more to the point, how you get into it? I am used to seeing the message "Press F" or "Press Delete to Enter Setup" and I do have that option, but "Press CRTL P to enter Intel (R) AMT Setup" is new to me.

When I do Press Control P and enter this "Intel (R) Active Management Technology BOS Extension v1.2.1.0000", I get a screen with options that I can't effect without changing the Default Password. I don't know the Default Password and am unable to change it. I don't like not having access to my machine.

Can someone please point me in the right direction to discover what to do with this?

Perhaps the default password is blank. Does it balk if you try to proceed without entering a password? If it balks, perhaps the rebuilders didn't clear it from the previous user, or it's meant to keep an end user from changing those settings. What are the options that you see when you get to that screen?
