(Solved) - W7 start menu icon

weird question. I went to lock my computer ( windows+L) and must have hit something else and the icon for my start menu went missing. now its just a white box with the word "Start" instead of the fancy pants logo microsoft put there. I tried Windows+ all the keys around it. Any ideas?

thanks for the link, i'll keep it in mind but there has got to be a way to just show it again rather than download and run some program. I jsut hit some random button and hid or disabled it or something

No problem. Are you sure you were pressing the Windows Key when you pressed L?

i have no idea why i decided to skip troubleshooting step #1 but, decided to try logging off and back on and it actually fixed it. stupid. I hang my head in shame for posting this thread lol
