Volume icon in Kubuntu

Hey Everyone,

I just installed Kubuntu on my Acer 5672 Laptop. I have a volume icon in the system tray and it has a line going through it. However, i do hear sounds. What gives?

The Kubuntu volume icon is kinda weird... the default slider isn't necessarily for the master volume. What you'll want to do is open up the properties and choose which control the popup slider thing is controlling.

Same thing happened on mine... it picked some disabled jack as the default control.

I'll try that as soon as my lappy reboots. I just told it to use the restricted ATI drivers and it is rebooting. Seems to take forever. I'll let you know how the speaker thing goes as soon as i can. Thanks geek.
