Ive been playing with the voice commands feature in Vista. Anybody have any tips or experience to share? So far it reminds me of the Apple Newton handwriting recognition except a little better :0

BTW what is the best way to turn it on? so far Ive been using F1 to get windows help and type "voice recognition" to get to the wizard to open it. Is there a better way? from the start menu would be nice...

Go to Start > Control Panel > click on Classic View > Speech Recognition.
To put it in Start menu, right click on Speech Recognition icon click on "create shortcut". Now from the desktop drag the newly created short cut icon to the Start Menu.

mayagrafix, i used voice commands for a few months. it wasn't difficult at all to get it set up. it seemed the more i used it the better it worked. i just had to remember to turn the mic off when i played wmc or anything from the speakers or i would be prompted to repeat the command. its better with a headset, that way you don't have to talk so loud in a mic and get your neighbors wondering just how crazy the guy next door is who yells at a computer.
you can set a shortcut icon from the sound preferences. i haven't used it for a while but i thought it was an awesome feature.
it also will set up a voice center on your desktop to control the funtions
