Hey....wow do I feel dumb.....

You know that little transparent bar that comes preloaded at the top of the screen with different icons to represent shortcuts? Well I had mine all customized to my liking and my GF shut it off. I can't for the Dickens of me figure out how to turn it back on.......please help a poor fool out.......

Thanks!

The Favorites Bar in IE?
Right click on a different toolbar and add the Favorites one.

Dell dock? If it is, it should be on your Start menu somewhere. At least I think it should be.... (I uninstalled it on first boot)

I'm not sure it is the Dell Dock. I have it and it doesn't have that background. Dell Dock is a mutated Stardock product, ObjectDock. If so, it would be found under STARDOCK on the START-->ALL PROGRAMS list.

There is another program, RocketDock, that is similar are well.

Why don't you do it the easy way.
1. make a folder on the desktop
2. make shortcuts of all programs and folders that you want in the dock on the desktop
3. drag all those shortcuts into the folder from 1)
4. push that folder all the way into the top of your screen and release (you may have to try a couple of times)
5. now you have a dock that you can customize - just right click on it. I like the "hide" function.
6. it will look somwhat like that:

The folder you created will stay on the desktop. That is your toolbar repository. Anything you move in and out of there will be reflected in the toolbar.
PS: mine is called "Toolbar" because that is the name I gave the folder.

WHS, I see you use DVD Flick...

I'm running the 64 bit version of Vista and it gave me problems although it did work. Did you have problems and are you running 64 bit Vista?

Problems I had were :

- During install, it didn't create the Icon, and the first time I tried to execute it I got a BSOD, Windows shutdown to protect me....
- On re-boot the Icon wasn't there but it was showing correctly in the properties. Deleted the icon and dragged the EXE to the desktop.
- When executed it started the MS Installer for MS Office. Their forums had many people with this problem, but I couldn't tell what Vista version?
- Once it did open it worked fine, but I discovered that my DVD reader was DELETED from the system. Came back on re-boot. Couldn't
make Device Manager find it again though unless re-booted?
- It took a LONG time to open, mostly due to the MS Installer running and deleting the DVD device (It didn't delete the DVD R/W drive).
- I found that if I ran it as Administrator MS Installer didn't start, but the time to open varied greatly, and it still deleted the DVD reader drive.

You see any of these problems?

ispalten, I have 32 bit Vista and had no problems with DVD Flick. You have to read their 4 page documentation. There are a few cliffs to manage. They also have a Forum where I got help a couple of times - good people.
