Vista Recovery CD not doing trick for BOOTMGR missing

Hello,

Can't seem to fix the missing BOOTMGR on a Vista laptop. I tried all bootre.rec options, but claims there are "0" windows installations. Recovery CD doesn't do the job.

I can see in DISKPART when I list VOLUMES that C:is defined, just can't gain access.

When I boot to Ubuntu from DVD, all I see is the recovery partition, which is odd. I thought this was in RAM not a physical drive.

Any other tricks to recover BOOTMGR in Vista, or how to get Ubuntu to see the C: drive? Just want to get back pictures.

kanbdun hi. Get the free bootable iso of PW, burn it, boot from it. See what it brings up,

And , if possible, take a clear and readable picture of the Partition Wizard screen and post that here.
