Hi,
I shrank the c: drive and have 48gb shown in black as unallocated space. No matter what I do, try to get 45gb, 40gb even 38gb for new drive using the unallocated space, I get a response: not enough space.

So, I put all the unallocated space back in the c: drive and was able to do that. But, that's not what I want. So... I tried Partition Magic 8.0 and Visa says its not compatible. I'm lost in Vista land.

Please let me know why Visat wont let me have another drive. Thanks.

It is a big problem to mess around with the C: drive
The easiest is to reinstall Vista and set the C: at about 30Gb
Much easier to extend it after if you need to

Thanks. I'm so disgusted with Vista right now and all the problems, that I'm trying to find out how to just put xp on there. Visat feels too constricting.

I just don't know how to take my drivers for my new laptop which are all in .exe form and get them in the .inf format. I'm computer literate, but far from a Geek.

I think Vista is great. It takes a month or 3 to understand it. Going back to XP is possible, but if you look through just this forum and see all the problems people have when they try to do it.

Hi,
I think Vista is very easy to understand, but too controlling and fat in its use of resources. I really like xp professional. Now if I had a Media Center computer and the Vista premium, well...

It is not too difficult to put it on a diet! :)
