Arca, welcome. Try booting in Safe Mode. As the system is booting up, press the F8 key before Windows starts. If you get a BIOS or manufacturer's logo screen, that's a good time to start pressing the F8 key. You are looking for a text mode menu -- white text on a black background -- the Advanced Boot Options screen. From there select "Safe Mode". This will run just Windows and very little else. So, no extra drivers and background applications will run. This will tell you if the problem is in Windows or due to some added software. Post back with the results or any questions.
It looks like one of your startup programs loops. When you are in safe mode (as ScottW described), disable all the startups (with msconfig) and do a Restart from there. If it then works, you can reenable your startups one by one and possibly find the culprit. You may anyhow only reenable those that you deem abolutely neccessary - like security. All the others are superfluous. Once the culprit is called for during normal operation, it may do this act on you again. But then you know at least which it is. You might want to keep Process Explorer running in the background so that you can identify the process in question. Get Process Explorer from here: http://technet.microsoft.com/e.....96653.aspx
