It should also work with built-in folders. Just give it a try.

Just forget.Unfortunately it cannot be done because the option to change the icon is not available.

Have you tried restoring previous versions?

This one should work
It works for me!

@Sinclair - yes it does work!

@bcolin, 2 things
1) have you moved your documents to a different partition? Or are they still in the same place that they were when new? (That is quite important!)

2) With snipping tool, there is an option to not have the red outline if you so wish :) on the actual window, click options and uncheck the box saying 'show selection ink after selections'

ok it worked , but by a very strange way ! this is what i did :

1) hit windows + R
2) type this "notepad %USERPROFILE%\documents\desktop.ini" (first problem was here ! Documents needs to be written with an capital letter ! )
3) replace the desktop.ini
4) log off and on (2nd problem : i just rebooted explorer.exe , didnt work , i really had to log off)
5) go to your documents
6) right click and go to 'costumize'
7) suddenly the folder icons was there !

8) choose the right Dll file , icon and hit apply
9) log off and on
10) and it is back !

ok

Glad it worked, but you didn't need to manually change it!
If you'd followed the instructions to the letter it would do it itself :P (you still have to log off)

:)

And you hadn't moved your documents folder, so that was ok too !
