VISTA boot problem, please help

I was following this thread http://www.howtogeek.com/forum.....responding as it mirrored my problem but when I typed LIST DISK it returned with There are no fixed disks to show. So I'm stuck on this step, I'm a paramedic not a computer tech so I'm pretty stuck here. Willing to return you to life in exchange for some tech help!

I'm using a Vitsa recovery disk and I'm back on the System Recovery Tool screen. From everything I've read it looks like I have a rootkit infection. How do I get it off my system when I can't access anything?

I can't access the harddrive on the affected computer, best I got is the System Recovery Options screen. I can get to the C: prompt, that's it.
