I have a laptop that is only about 6 months old with a ton of music on it. About two weeks ago the itunes Icon changed from its normal look to that of a text document... then when I went to open it ALL the audio files are gone! You could still open the program, not from the shortcut on the desktop but from the start menu. Someone please help! I don't know if I can use system restore or something similar to try to get them back; can I even get them back? Any help would be great! and please be explicit in any instruction.

It probably just can't find your library file. The library file tells iTunes where all the audio files are on your hard drive. You don't even need iTunes to play the files, so if iTunes is showing you nothing, it's probably a problem with iTunes and not your music. Do you know where your music is on your hard drive?
