Seem to have ironed out most of previous problems with PC slowing down to a crawl. Have two inteso USB memory sticks [both 4Gb] Use these for swapping files to laptop etc. Both seem to get the "Windows not responding" message. Have swept them for viruses, malware etc. Nothing appears to be wrong with them, but now they are incredibly slow. Are there any other checks I can do to sort this out? Thanks

Make sure you have the most recent USB drivers. Do you know what the specs are on those sticks? Are they USB 1.1 or 2.0?

Thanks InDiSent [cool tag!] Wouldn't know which they are, clicking on properties doesn't tell me. When I use a USB extension cable - and it is just that, no filters or stuff on the lead, just male & female USBs - the problem has stopped. Bizarre, but at least that's one less problem on my list. Thanks again

Yes, no problem in laptop, daughter's school PC's. So how do I tell if they're USB1.1 or 2.0? Thanks
