usb problems on my labtop

i installed windows 7 on my hp pavilion 8000.....for some reason my usb is charging and recognized but its not accesssing or updateing drivers when connected...when i plug it into my computer it works fine and i also have windows 7 installed on my desktop..i have 32 bit installed on my labtop and a 64 on my destop computer....i tried uninstalling and updateing the driver and replugging the usb but same ordeal....nothing...keeps giving me an installation error....CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME....!!!

are you updating to the 32bit versions on your laptop? you cant use the 64bit drivers on the 32bit. just a thought....

Maybe if you could provide some more detail, what do you mean by your usb, what kind of device are you attaching, you should check the device's website for updated drivers and yes you cannot use 32bit drivers on a 64 bit system so doublcheck youre not trying this move.
