USB problem

I have a Canon MF 4150 connected to a USB port on my Dell Dimension 2400. When I plug a flash drive or any other USB device into a separate USB port, the device is not recognized. When I uplug the Canon MF 4150, the device is correctly recognized. I think it must be a driver conflict, but how do I resolve it?

The same thing happened a while back when I tried to install a USB wireless adapter, the computer would not recognize it. I think it must be something with the Canon driver, but I don't know how to correct it. Canon is no help.
