(Solved) - USB mouse not working

I have a USB mouse, every time I insert it into the USB port is says it is downloading, the laser turns on, and it says it is ready to use. BUT it does not work.

Please ask for any info needed. *NOTE* It USED to work, now it does not.

[EDIT] It is a wired Synpatics(Or whatever) mouse.

I have learned that keyboards AND a different mouse do not work! I will start a new thread.

I have many things that used to work and now they don't. You need to rule out the possibility that it is broken. Try it on a different computer as LH suggests. Try a different mouse on this computer. That is the standard way to research this type of problem.

[NEWS] The mice and keyboards work on another computer.

[EDIT] Yes, I keep forgetting about the edit post thing. Also, anything to comment on the news?

If your talking about your wired mouse and saying it use to work, have you tried reinstalling the software?

Yes I have, I uninstalled the drivers and it. I let in re-install. NOTHING happens. I am not sure why or how.

Open "device manager" and see if you have a yellow exclamation point by "mice and other pointing devices."

Do they work if you boot into safe mode?

Are there any 'known bad' USB ports on your computer?

If your computer has USB ports on the front of the case, try plugging them in there too.

I have two side USB's. I will try the safe mode in a minute or two.

Above more, I have no problems according to it.

[EDIT] I tried it in safe mode (all 3 of them) and nothing worked.

Are other usb devices such as flash drive, etc. works (detected) when plugged into the usb port?
